1992年、長野県出身。小学校では野球、中学・高校ではバレーボールに多くの時間を費やす。大学ではスポーツ科学を専攻するものの、自身の夢を求めつつ、趣味の一環として19歳の時に独学でピアノを始める。ピアノを始めてから間も無く自己表現としての作曲活動も開始する。 2014年、スポーツ科学の勉強のためニューヨークの大学へ留学。一年間の留学の最中、ジャズ、クラシックを始めとする様々な音楽に触れる中で自身も音楽家になることを決意する。 その後、2016年にはニューヨーク市内にあるスタインウェイホールでのデビューを果たし、2018年には自身のオリジナルソロアルバム、「ムーン」をリリース。アメリカメディアからも評価を得た。 その後日本へ帰国し、長野を中心に全国各地での演奏活動を行う。 約一年間日本で活動した後オーストラリアへ。シドニー 、メルボルンでバスキング(ストリート演奏)含め演奏活動を行う傍ら、YouTubeにも定期的に演奏動画を投稿している。
Born in Nagano, Japan in 1992. Katsu dedicated most of his time for playing baseball in elementary school and volleyball in junior high and high school. Though Katsu majored in Sports Science at college, he was looking for a goal in life. Then he started to play the piano at the age of 19 by self-learning.
Soon after he started to play the piano, Katsu commenced composition as the way of self-expression.
In 2014, Katsu studied Sports Science in College in New York, U.S. And while he was there for a year, he decided to pursue his music career. He was influenced by classic, jazz, and blues music, hence, his compositions fuse new age, classic, blues, and more.
He had his U.S. debut concert at Steinway Hall in December 2016, and his first solo original album entitled, “Moon” was released in the U.S. in 2018 and received critical raves from U.S. media and music industry.
He moved back to Japan in April 2018 and had multiple concerts and gigs. But after staying in Japan for a year, he moved to Sydney and Melbourne, Australia as well as started to upload videos of cover songs to YouTube.
